Subglottic Stenosis - Airway Dilation

Hi Folks

Well it's official. I have subglottic stenosis. They thought that my left vocal cords were paralyzed which is not the case so I am grateful for the little things. Anyway, I am 40% obstructed under my left vocal cord and in need of dilation. My ENT and Pulmonologist don't feel qualified and are not so they are referring me to the "big guns" like Cleveland Clinic etc. My choice, I'm in Illinois. I think that this could be much worse but it is pretty bad right now. My airway keeps blocking up with the lovely.... scabs (esp at night) I'm back on 60 mgs of Pred and have been scoped with a bronchoscopy so it's confirmed.

Still fighting my insurance for Rituxan which is all I have left to take but in the meantime I need this procedure done. So if you have been dilated, can you jot down some details? How long were you hospitalized? Etc.
Thanks for your help

Brenda

PS So the normal blood cell count that I was so happy with back in March was just the brewing of my new dilemma.
Go figure
